ANNA MAYILYAN was born on October 23, 1970 in Yerevan. An Armenian singer (soprano). She graduated from the Yerevan state musical college named after R. Melikyan in 1992, then the Conservatory in 1996, studied in the Academy "Mozart" (1997-1998, Poland), in Romania, 2000, Switzerland, 2001, at the "Villecroze" Academy of France in 2001. Mayilyan has founded Cultural Center "Sagmos" in Yerevan in 2000, and since then she is the founder-director of the vocal ensemble "Varpetner". Since 1995 she has been singing in the church St. Catholic of Kotayk Diocese. Since 1999 Mayilyan has been teaching at Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. She has participated in numerous concert festivals, competitions (France, Germany, Belgium, Canada, etc.). Her repertoire includes the songs of Western and Armenian composers, as well as Armenian spiritual and national songs. A. Mayilyan is a laureate of international competitions, Komitas-125 (2nd Prize, 1994), the Austro-German republican (1st Prize, 1996, Yerevan), Ibla Grand Prize (special prize, 2002, Italy).
