Madoyan Levon (10.8.1909, Alexandropol (now-Gyumri)- 19.9.1964, Yerevan) Armenian duduk player. People’s Artist of Armenian SSR (1961). From 1923-39 he worked  in the Ensemble of Eastern Musical Instruments of Leninakan branch of Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1952 he was soloist in the Ensemble of National Instruments of Armenian Radio and  Television. Levon Madoyan performed Armenian national and ashugh songs,  dance melodies, as well as some works by Armenian composers. He reproduced many songs and dance melodies of Shirak. Among his instrumental interpretations are “Call of the Shepherd”, “Plowman”, “Brother Hunter” etc.  He had concerts  in  Moscow, Tbilisi, Baku, Tashkent, Rostov-on-Don.
